Blog Challenge *Day 6*

Day 6 poses a question I don't have a legit answer for.
What is your Zodiac sign and does it fit your personality?
This is honestly a mystery to me. I'm a Gemini, which by general consensus means I'm fairly two-faced. WHY. Honestly I think all that stuff is a big hodgepodge of nonsense, which according to my friend Ceci is typical of a Gemini.
Here's the Gemini horse from Breyer:
From Breyer
And here's the description:
"May 21 - June 20: Geminis are energetic, quick, and full of energy.  Like a spirited Arabian horse, they can be charming and friendly and then gone in a flash!  Geminis are the most social sign of the zodiac, outgoing and curious, though they can get bored and restless easily.  This sign's color is bright and sunny yellow, like their spirited and charming dispositions.  The Gemini sign is The Twins, and not surprisingly, they love team sports and work great with others."     --Breyer
I have a bone to pick with whoever originally came up with the Zodiac signs. They made too many generalizations. For one, I don't usually enjoy team sports, and in my own opinion I work just okay with other people. If given the choice, I'd rather work on a project alone than with a group except in cases like AP Geo when I could use some help. Still, I don't think I fit that bit of it. I also REALLY don't fit into my sign because in NO WAY am I the most social of my friends (they're all different Zodiac signs). No way should I be in the most social group, because I don't talk much with people I don't know well, plus I'm a natural introvert.
This is a bit closer:

Except I'm not really always on the move or excellent at mimicking. I'm just okay at it... have I even ever tried mimicking somebody? I'm not sure... yeah.
Also Ceci says that my periodical clumsiness is a Gemini thing. I don't know why. She certainly seems to think that I'm a Gemini through and through with my quirks and such, but I don't really agree. Leaving the entirety of my life up to the stars is pushing it. I can be in control if I want (I do want).
Now this is just sad (not because it doesn't have what I want, but because it's stupid).

I'm not letting that determine my love life, thnx. I'll do it all myself. And not a word from you, Ceci. Zodiac signs haven't got it all figured out. I find many faults in them myself.
In all I don't think I really fit in the Gemini category, despite my friends' urging to the opposite. Also people need to stop letting it go to their heads. It's all a bunch of nonsense. Just get in control of life; don't let life control you.
Yep.

Blog Challenge *Day 5*

Day 5. What are your favorite comfort foods and why?
Good question. I don't like to eat all the time, but I do have a few foods I can't live without.
a) Banana-chocolate muffins.
www.recipegirl.com
Why? Because my mom and I like making these together. They remind me of home.
b) Corned beef brisket.
blog.armadillopepper.com
Why? It's traditional- and it's Irish! Something about the texture and flavor just can't be met by other meat. Maybe it's my tiny Irish heritage coming out. Unfortunately this is only available in March, so it's a once-a-year thing.
c) Chips and salsa.

Why? Quick and easy. They're great party food, too.
d) Crystallized ginger.
www.iherb.com
Why? OH MY GOSH this stuff is sooo good. If you've never tried it you're missing out. It also soothes stomach aches and sore throats, so it doesn't just taste good. Go get some. You won't regret it.
Yep. Bye for now. The birthday was good, by the way.

Blog Challenge *Day 4*

*MY BIRTHDAY IS ALMOST HERE.*
Ah, this'll be a controversial one.
Day 4: Discuss your views on religion.
Hmmm.
Well, since I haven't been to church since I was about 3, I can say that church/religion is kind of overrated. Now, if you want to believe in God and all that, then fine. I won't judge you for it. Religion means little or nothing to me, so you can believe in whatever you like and be my friend.
I do think we should all try to be good people. That's one good thing church does for you- it teaches morals. That part is good. Try to be nice, forgiving, and not selfish and you'll do fine in life. But if you're an agnostic/atheist, don't be too hard on people that do believe in that religion stuff. Ever seen those "Coexist" bumper stickers? We could all do with some of those.

Religion shouldn't be such a fighting point. I know for a fact, having grown up in solid Mormon country, that it's hard to live among a majority and face the "When-are-you-coming-to-church" stuff. But I survived. Just be kind and say, "No, thanks." Then you won't create unnecessary grudges in the community or anything.
What I really don't like in religion is how it meshes with society. Like in Islam, women aren't treated very fairly at all; they're forced to wear those black robe-things whenever they leave the house, and fundamental Islam prohibits the practice of "Western leisure activities" like surfing the internet, listening to music, playing sports, whatever. They think everybody should use their free time to study religion, which is why I hope ISIS doesn't succeed in taking over the world- not that they really have a chance- because I don't think I could live without internet. But I still don't judge people for being Muslims. They can do what they want.
That's basically the whole idea. Just be nice to people and think, "They can do what they want without me judging them because I'm a nice person." Lesson of the day: coexist.
Thnx for hearing me out.

Blog Challenge *Day 3*

Day 3 asks: What are your pet peeves?
I have a lot. Here you go.

  • Annoying teenage guys. I can put up with them, but still... ugh.
  • Price tags. Everything is way too expensive these days. Can you please give me an electric Range Rover for $50? That's how much I have. No? Shame.
  • When teachers don't tell you when something's due, and then you have to scramble to finish it at the last minute.
  • When my Bose bluetooth speaker cuts in and out. The connection isn't always super strong when it has to transmit the signals through my bedroom door.
  • When people talk while the drum major's talking.
  • Spit valves that leak. Enough said? Yeah.
  • Having to get up at ungodly hours of the morning for dance competitions. Thank goodness I don't have to do that anymore. I only get up at 5:30 for the occasional parade. (Yes, I once got up much earlier than 5:30 for a dance thing. It was miserable.)
  • From Amazon, of course.
  • When I don't know the name of some popular thing, like a song or these sandals (above), and I waste SO MUCH TIME fruitlessly looking for whatever it is.
  • When things get really loud and rowdy on the band bus. There have been some interesting times, all right...
  • People who don't pack until the night before leaving on their trip! This is just so surely a way to forget some vital thing. I can't fathom how they do it. I always start packing at least two weeks in advance, or else I just loose my head and can't think. Don't judge me, I'm being proactive. You'll thank me on the Hawaii trip when I remember toothpaste and you don't.
  • Blazzfests (excessive blasting) from the trombones while we're trying to do sectionals.
  • PEOPLE LEAVING THE ROOM AND NOT COMING BACK DURING SECTIONALS, SUCH THAT WE GET NOTHING DONE. <This is highly bothersome. Trust me.
  • Consumerism.
  • Trump.
  • Homework.
  • When your parents let you buy a birthday present early, but then take it and hide it right when you get home from the mall. You have to wait, they said. It's a birthday present, they said. Well, yeah.
  • The lack of a presence of a marching band at my old school. Another extremely bothersome one.
  • When I do my excellent British Isles accent, but pronounce ONE WORD wrong.
  • Pretty much all mainstream popular music. I am thoroughly stuck in the 80's when it comes to music. U2, The Police, and Yes all serve me much better than all this newfangled popular stuff.
  • When people don't get up on their toes for the backwards slide marching step. I'm seriously pretty much the only person that does this right.
  • When you've almost made it through the whole day with your white jeans, and then you unknowingly spill something on them. Your friends tell you a lot later. Annoying.
  • Texting on my flip phone. It's one of those where you have to press the keys multiple times to get the right letters.
  • When that same phone beeps at me in the middle of the night, trying to tell me it needs charging. I have to get out of bed and plug it in to make it stop. Rawr.
  • Other stuff. I'm too lazy to think of more, so goodbye. :)
